THE LAST LECTURE SERIES
Faculty and Staff Nomination

Have you ever wondered what your professor might say if this were his or her last lecture? Have you ever taken a course from a facluty member whom you thought was an inspirational teacher? Have you ever worked with a member of the Bradley staff who inspired you to see the world in new ways, to do things you’d never done before, to work to make the community or the world a better place? Have you ever taken a course from a faculty member, or worked with a Bradley staff member, and wished you had the opportunity to get to know him or her better as a person? Is there a faculty or staff member at Bradley who has a passion for something that makes you want to hear more?

Then take the time to nominate this fabulous faculty or staff member for the Last Lecture Series! A committee of students, faculty, and staff members will select the winner from among those nominated by current Bradley University students and alumni. The winner will be honored with the opportunity to present a lecture as if it were his or her last ever. This is a great opportunity for students to share the talents of their favorite professor or staff member with the Bradley University and Peoria communities.

The first annual Bradley University Last Lecture was given in April 2008 by President Joanne Glasser, who donned costume and makeup to play herself in the year 2033, on the eve of her retirement from the presidency of Bradley. President Glasser “reflected back” on her 25 years at the University, remembering tragedy and triumph, discussing the growth of the university, and the pleasures of living near campus and being able to have students over for pizza and hot chocolate. She also cited specific students by name, and discussed their future achievements. President Glasser’s “Last Lecture,” a look back from a hoped-for future, presented her inspiring vision for the years-to-come at Bradley.

Whose vision, ideas, passions, or thoughts on life would you like to hear more about? Nominate a faculty of staff memebr to give the 2009 Second Annual Last Lecture. Please send an email to seth@bradleyhillel.org or use our Nominee Form to quickly send an email to Dr. Seth Katz.
